What kind of graphics card can I put in Poweredge T110 II?

Server has following slots:

4 PCIe G2 slots:
Two x8 slots (one with x16 connectors)
One x4 slot (with x8 connector)
One x1 slot

Graphics card needs to support Windows server 2012 (are Windows 8 drivers compatible with Windows Server 2012?). I am not looking for anything fancy or fast, just something that can support 2 monitors via DVI or DisplayPort.

I looked at NewEgg graphics card section and find it difficult to understand what kind of interface I should pick. This is what NewEgg has for interface (I don't see any x8 or x4 as mentioned in Poweredge T110 II specs):

PCI Express 3.0 x16
PCI Express 2.1 x16
PCI Express 2.0 x16
PCI Express x16
PCI Express x1
PCI Express 2.0
PCI Express 2.1
PCI Express 3.0

I have also tried

- Zotac GeForce GT 710 2GB not work

- ASUS EN210 SILENT/DI/1GD3/V2‏ not work

- ASUS EN210/DI/512MD2 work

Notes:

*  BIOS 2.7.0

Hi,

I am also very disappointed. Informations posted years ago on that subject look no longer valid, and nobody has been able so far to propose a trick nor an explanation.

Best regards !

It is very interesting the ASUS EN210/DI/512MD2 works.

The card's GPU is based upon an NVIDIA GeForce 210 rather than a Radeon HD5450.

My suspicion (again suspicion) is a video card need to meet the following criteria to work in a PE T110 II

* Use very low power (like less than 20 watts TDP)

* Be capable of working at x8 mode in a PCIe x16 slot

Lots of threads discuss this here is yet another:

pls andreanicotra can you explain, what kind of ASUS EN210 works? i think, there are 2 different versions? And on asus homepage the power consumption for this card is "up to 75W". How is this possible, if the pcie slot only allows 25W?

I`ve tried an asus radeon hd 5450, that another user here install sucessful, but for me it does not work in all bios versions (no boot anymore)

sorry for bad english

Thanks

Hey guys, I discover and found a solution.

We have to remove from video bios the uefi.

One guys help me at win raid forum and the HD 5450 2gb visatek it's working.

The problem is the i3 and this xeon generation for this CPU don't load GPU with uefi.
