Will 1600mhz or 1333mhz RAM work in a R810 server?
Hi guys,
I'm looking at upgrading ram in our R810 server. We'll remove all existing ram and replace it with 12x 16GB chips.
The only thing is, I'm not sure if 1600mhz or 1333mhz chips will work in the R810 because the specs claim "up to 1066mhz".
If the speed is scaled down by the server to 1066mhz that's fine, I just wanted to know if they would work since 1066mhz in a 16GB capacity chip now is extremely hard to find.

Hello.
The R810 System bus speed is limited to 1066 MHz. DIMMs of speeds 1333 MHz and above will be down clocked to operate at only the speed of 1066 MHz.
