Dell Poweredge R630 installing Windows 2008R2 (SP1)

Hello,

I'm facing a strange problem when installing Windows 2008R2 or SP1 on the Dell PowerEdge R630.

- Boot the Dell

- F10

- Configure the Raid 5

- Deploy the OS (Option BIOS)

- Choose the system Windows 2008R2 SP1

- Start the deploy

- system restart

- installation Windows start

- Disk has been detected

- installation begin ( Downloading and compressing..)

Suddenly a message is displayed: setup can not be completed missing drivers......

I tried to download the drivers from the website and load it...

But still having the same problem.?

any idea? or whta drivers Im missing

Thank you

I'd recommend you install directly from the OS media.

The very first thing you must do is go into the BIOS and turn off USB 3.0 as 2008 R2 does not have native USB 3.0 drivers.

Hi,

In case someone is looking for the answer in this post (like I did earlier today), this driver worked for me (Windows 2008 R2 SP1 on Power Edge R630).

Judging by the date, I was out of town for the responses to my post, but yes drivers are needed. Server 2008 R2 is too old to know how to talk to the controller in the the R630, so you need drivers.
