Installing a fresh copy of windows server 2003

I would like to install a fresh copy of Windows Server 2003 on one of our PowerEdge 4400 servers.  However, my OpenManage server assistant CD does not have an poption for 2003.  How can I get an updated version, or can I just boot off of the Windows Servef 2003 CD and install that way.

Thanks

Hi Rich,

The latest revision of the OpenManage Applications CD set is part number 310-0399. Dell spare parts can be reached by phone at 1-800-357-3355.

You can also just boot from the Windows Server 2003 CD, if you have the latest system firmwares installed.

Dell Server System BIOS, PowerEdge 4400, A11
FileName: 4400-A11.exe [525 KB]

Dell ESM Firmware, PowerEdge 2550, 4400, A56
Filename: a56cust.exe (405 KB)
Note: Extract the files to a DOS bootable floppy disk. Boot the server to this floppy disk, and run smflsh.exe.

Adaptec PERC3/Di, Firmware, PowerEdge 4400, v.2.8.0.6089, A13
FileName: PE4400-280_6089.exe [1 MB]

Windows Server 2003 has a driver for the Perc 3/di native, but this driver is required for compatibility with the Dell OpenManage products.

Adaptec Perc 2/si, 2/qc, 3/si, 3/di, Driver, Windows Server 2003, v.2.8.0.6085, A05
FileName: w2k3-2806085.exe [259 KB]

Hi Rich,

Did you install the program using the administrator logon?

I would try un / re installing the program. If this does not help, try posting in the Systems Management - OpenManage Software forum. We now have a team of support technicians dedicated to the Dell OpenManage products.

Thanks for using the Dell Community Forums!

Now I have a new problem.  I downloaded and installed the new OpenManage, but when I launch it I get a "The page can not be displayed" message in Interent Explorer.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Rich

You may also want to make sure that the secure port service is running.

If it is try accessing the server administrator from a remote system using a brower and typing the https://ip address of the server:1311.

If you can connect to the server administrator on the remote system, then go back to the system, and addthe ip address of the network interface to trused sites in internet tools, and also check internet security settings- try setting security to low and testing to determine if ie is the problem.
