Removing disk from cluster where the disk is mounted in a file folder

We have a two node cluster with Windows 2008 R2 SP1 hosting disk space on an EqualLogic PS6500.  The problem is that initially we mounted about 20 eql disks in file folders which then are mapped to one drive letter, F.  For various reasons we are deconstructing this arrangement and not mounting any disks in folders.  The problem is that even after removing any dependencies on any other item when I try to take one of the disks I want to remove from being in the cluster to being available, instead of just that disk, moving to the available section, all 20 disks move to the available section.  When this happened nothing went offline and I was able to get them all back again.

I did not try just deleting the disk because I did not want to take a chance on losing all the disks or crashing the cluster.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Once the disks are 'available', are you able to then unmount the disk from the folder and maybe then move the remaining disks/folders back to being a cluster resource?
