Windows 2008 Terminal Server Gateway smart card

Has anyone instituted smart cards which work with Terminal Server Gateway?

So far there seem to be a number of IT people who are trying to get smart cards from multiple vendors working with the RDP 6.0 and 6.1 clients,  with no success. Recently I worked with Vasco Digipass860 USB keys and the readers will not supply the user/password to the logon window; this seems to be the common issue with multiple vendors. RDP 6 or 6.1 is needed for TSG, so a lower RDP client is not an option.
