External controller advise

Hi,

I am trying to understand which external controller will work best for connecting PE R310 and MD 1220.

When I' m trying to configure R310 on customization page, I see below available options,

Dell Single Channel Ultra 320 SCSI PCIe Host Adapter [add $174.30]

SAS 6Gbps HBA External Controller [add $139.30]
   
PERC H800 RAID Adapter for External JBOD, 512MB [add $454.30]
   
PERC H800 RAID Adapter for External JBOD, 512MB NV Cache [add $489.30]
   
PERC H800 RAID Adapter for External JBOD, 1Gb NV Cache [add $559.30

And, when I am customizing MD1220, I see below,

2 x PERC H800, SAS Ext 512MG [add $856.68]
       
PERC H800, SAS, Ext 512MG [add $428.34]
   
No PERC H800 add $0.00
   
PERC H800 RAID Kit for External JBOD, 512MB NV Cache [add $461.34]
   
PERC H800 RAID Kit for External JBOD, 1Gb NV Cache [add $527.34]

I know I have to choose and add external controller in any of the 2 customizations above.

Which controller I choose for best performance and is "6Gb SAS Cable " always to work regardless of controller I choose?
