Can't create a RAID5 array with Advanced Wizard

I have a MD1000 attached to a Poweredge 2900 (Windows 2003 Std R2 SP2) via a PERC 6/e. I am trying to create a RAID5 array of 8 physical drives usng the OpenManage Virtual Disk Advanced Wizard. I am able to execue the first two steps, selecting the RAID level and then selecting all 8 drvies. When I get to the third step, where I should be able to enter a the array name, size, etc..., I instead just get a blank screen.

I tried creating other array levels also (6, 10, 60) using the Advanced Wizard and the same thing happens. When I use the Express Wizard, there is no problem, but of course I can't create an 8 drive RAID5 with the express.

Anybody know why this might be happening? The contoller firmware is at 6.3.0-0001. All the drives are SAS 146GB 15K Seagate Cheetah 10.

Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest to try a different browser or play with the security settings in your current browser. The blank page sounds like the browser doesn't want to display it, which a different browser may allow.

If you don't want to change the default browser (to allow the server administrator icon to go to the other browser directly), just go to https://servername:1311.

Hello GlennGSD,

I would upgrade your firmware on the perc 6/e & try it again as you should be allowed to do so.  Here is a link to get the latest version.  http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/Product/powervault-md1000?driverId=FK6J2&osCode=WNET&fileId=3176121205&languageCode=en&categoryId=SF

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Dev Mgr,

Thank you. that worked. I replaced IE with Firefox as my default browser, opened Server Admin, and was able to create the array with no problems.
