MD3200i Physical Disk path consistency Lost
Installed new Seagate 1.8TB (ST1800MM0198) hard drives to upgrade the capacity of my MD3200i. Updated the Physical Drive Firmware to 2T51. Upgraded the Controller firmware to 08.20.24.60. Inserted drives and the MD3200i sees the drives but reports Enclosure path consistency Lost and on the individual physical hard drives reports for each hard drive Physical Disk path consistency Lost. Checked and the Seagate ST1800MM0198 is on the approved hard drive list in the support matrix for MD3200i. I am not using an external expansion controller. The drives are only in the enclosed unit. I have removed and re-inserted each controller and rebooted the MD3200i.
What must I do to resolve this issue?

Hello SysTomAdmin,
In most cases when you see this error it is due to not having an interposer board on your drive. If the drive is a SATA drive you need an interposer so that the drive is present to your MD3200i with having 2 physical disk path. Without the interposer, the drive is present with a single physical disk path.

IF you remove the new drives, does the enclosure Path error persist?
The last time I had this error I had a bent pin on one of the connectors in the chassis backplane, where the controllers connect but your case can be a totally different one.
@DELL-Sam L Since these are SAS (2.5" 10K) drives I do not think they still need an interposer right? The search I did on the model number gave me these specs.
@SysTomAdmin I assume you are using a hybrid tray with these drives to work on the MD3200i or is your SAN an MD3220i?

@BriFar The drives are SAS and I have a generic 2.5" to 3.5" caddy tray pass through adapter.
