I am setting up a lab for my company that compares storage subsystems under real applications. In doing this I am trying to get beyond the typical performance numbers provided by IOMeter.
Initially we are looking at load simulation tools that provide performance metrics as an output. JetStress for MS Exchange is an example.
Can you share some recommendations for other software and/or client loading tools that I might use for this effort? The tools must be in the public domain.
