PowerVault MD3200 battery problem

Dear friends,

 

Recently my MD3200 has reported a battery problem for a controller in slot 0. I bought a new battery and followed the replacement procedure and it went all well. After only one day, the system report battery problem with the same controller. Luckily, I have one more new battery but I wonder if everything is well with the controller itself. Is it possible that it doesn't charge the battery properly?

That's what I thought at the moment but the battery package was unopened.

yes it could be an issue with the controller too. Firmware is up to date?

Hello Marco,

 

The firmware is 07.84.44.60. Not really up to date but to be hones, after what I went thru with Dell servers with upgrading firmware, I am very afraid to upgrade it. I have two controllers in this enclosure and it's the only storage I have currently for my lab. To be honest, I don't even know the upgrade procedure.

We understand, but keep in mind that the firmware updates are normally released to help with stability. As far as the update procedure you can find that here
