PowerVault MD3200 on PowerEdge R420 OMSA

Hi,

I have a PowerEdge R420 with PowerVault MD3200 attached. I can see all virtual disks in the OS and it work well. But I can't see the PowerVault MD3200 virtual disks on OMSA (OpenManage Server Administrator) like the picture in attachment.

It says "6Gbps SAS HBA" but "No Virtual Disks". I wold like to see the virtual drivers to be easy to monitor.

Is that a way to do that?

Hello cberni,

With the MD3200 you use MDSM (Modular Disk Storage Manager) to mange your MD. you can get MDSM from the Resource CD. Here is a link to the Resource CD just in case you need it. http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=R9G1X&fileId=3587386326&osCode=W12R2&productCode=powervault-md3200&languageCode=en&categoryId=CD

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks your reply. But I know that.

I would like also to see the virtual disks on OMSA (OpenManage Server Administrator). Is that possible?

Hello cberni,

OMSA will not see the virtual disk as OMSA can’t talk to the raid controllers in your MD3200. That is why when you look at OMSA it will only show the HBA info.
