PowerVault NX3200 RAID6 Data Drive Partition Table Type

I have just changed from RAID5 to RAID6 on my new Dell PowerVault NX3200.  However, before the change was made, I forgot to check to see how Dell had configured Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 with RAID5.  Basically what are the recommended options under Windows Disk Management for setting up this new RAID6 drive (MBR versus GPT, etc.).  The PowerVault NX3200 has 12 X 4 TB SAS hard drives configured in one RAID6 array, and it is desired to have only one DATA Drive (no partitioning of the RAID6 volume).

Thank you.

Hello TheKid7,

For your OS drive you will want to use MBR.  For your data Raid 6 you will want to use GPT.  If you don’t use GPT for your RAID 6 then you won’t be able to see all the space that is available.  ALSO MBR has a 2TB limit as well.
