My Dell Precision T3600 never detected my Kingston thumb drive. I even went as far as to set the USB Drive first in boot priorities. And guess what? Fail! Booted right to my HDD (without any file) instead of my SSD (which has Windows 8.1 in it) and got sent to Grub Rescue.

Power-on and start tapping the " F12 " key.
There do you have the option to boot from your "Thumb Drive" ???

Yes. I tried that. It doesn't show anything with "USB" in it.
