T5400 will not install Windows XP x86

I have a T5400 workstation with dual E5430 CPU's and 32GB RAM on which I need to install Win XP Pro x86 to be able to run some legacy hardware and software editing applications.

When I insert the install CD and boot up, the XP installer loads files, but before completing loading I get a BSOD. I have tried this several times, including selecting the BIOS OS Install option, and reducing the RAM to 2GB but I get this BSOD message every time.

Can anyone suggest a possible cause - for example will XP accept the dual E5430 CPU's?

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Re: T5400 will not install Windows XP x86

I have concluded that the problem might bne that WinXP x86 install disk does not directly support STAT drives - many references via Google confirm this but all recommend downloading the montherboard manufacturers SATA driver and using either th F6 install driver option or a new slipstreamed XP) The problem is that I am unable to find a SATA driver for the T5400 mainboard on the Dell website. Any suggestions anyone?
