T5820 BIOS Update to 1.9.0 - now amber/white flashing LEDs

My T5820 has the FlexiBay populated with 2 x NVME SSDs, one if the System Disk.

All was working fine until I upgraded the BIOS to 1.9.0 and now I get 4 amber followed by 6 white flashes on the front power LED.

This indicates 'RAID Volume degraded'.

On investigation in the BIOS and Device Configuration I see that the Intel VMD VROC (pass thru) is saying that none of the disks are RAID disks.

This has not changed since I upgraded the BIOS.

Any ideas what should I do to sort the cause of the error ?

Thanks,

David

I see a similar issue here: https://www.dell.com/community/Precision-Fixed-Workstations/BIOS-Update-1-9-0-on-T7920/m-p/6232133#M1348 The solution there is to roll back to BIOS 1.8.4 - I cannot see where to download that from. Any suggestions ? David

I, too have this problem after upgrading to 1.9.0.  I was able to stop the flashing in the BIOS settings by going to Configuration->VMD and unchecking the individual PCI buses.  This was needed despite the fact that I already had the Disable VMD  box checked.

But this is just a workaround.  If anyone knows how to get 1.8.4, I'd be interested too.  Thanks

Hi,

I downloaded T7920's 1.8.4 bios from Dell's site by using my computer's service tag and going to downloads section. I apologize for not remembering all of the steps at this moment but it was underneath the bios section. I hope this helps.

Best,

alpay
