What would happen if i swapped the BIOS of a Precision 5820?
This is obviously for overclocking purposes due to the motherboard being somewhat old, so if i got a somewhat similar bios and soldered it where the old bios was, would it be bad? im guessing it sort of depends on which bios i solder, but you tell me.

Definitely would not be good. The bios is tailored to the way the specific board is designed... you cannot just swap a different one and hope that it would work.

I think you're going a bit OT for this kind of forum. The bios handles the board design, then add on pci-e cards are handled by 1) their own manufacturer , they each have firmware onboard and 2) by the driver made for each one of them.
If you want to play with the motherboard of a currently being sold workstation, is up to you. But the "somewhat old" is still the current series sold to clients officially.
