Dell Precision 5530 ociasionaly hanging / freezing

Can anyone help me with frustrating issue - occasionally my inspiron 5530 (one week old) is hanging / freezing occasionally. Doesn't matter if i use Excel, typing, web browsing - from time to time touchpad dosen't respond, I can't type - 5-15 seconds and goes back to normal. It dosen't hapend when I use laptop with TB15 dock station, it only happens when I use laptop standalone with mouse (Logi Mx 2s), Hardware test dosen't show any hardware issues. What I did / check so far (in order):

1. System restore and clean W1064bit pro instal - no luck

2. Switched off in Bios "C states" (found on dell forums) - no luck

3. Switched off any touchpad gestures - no luck

4. Instal 32 bit browser, 32bit office - no luck

5. install any avaliable driver updates - no luck

6. Updated BIOS to 1.6 - no lock

7. Again system restore, fresh drivers - for al half hour was fine after that it happened again

7.1. Switched off all Dell service (why they need to overload CPU all the time ?!?!?!?!) - no luck

8. Repaste CPU, GPU, add thermopads to all coils (I thought it's happend when laptop is overheated - no luck)

Stay all time with dock station is not an option - I didn't bought laptop to use it all the time like PC.

What is interesting - when it freezes and I press caps lock - led responds all the time (on / off) Any sugestions?

Configurations:

5530+TB15+2xMonitors+logi mx 2s, Logik 780 (unifing adapter / bluetooth) - everyting is fine

5530 +Logi mx 2s (Unifining adapter or bluetooth) - it hangs / freezes

5530 stand alone - it hangs / freezes

some fresh thoughts:
1. Switched off any logitech services between freezes - no lock
2. When "freeze happens" I quickly press power button to put laptop on sleep and press it again to wake up - everything goes back to normal.
So I assume culprot is touch screen?
Swithed in device manager screen keyboard and pen - will see.

Try to disable ‘C’ states in BIOS. It helps with similar issues

Disabling "C states" did not help. I've already try that.
What helped: Updating Bios to 1.7.0. and switching off all power settings. Buuuuuuuut I get screen flickering problem when I use laptop as "Stand alone" :) (thanks INTEL)
But in the end, getting flicker from time to time is better that freez.

Flickering is said to be cause by Dell PremierColor, uninstall that and it should solve the flickering. I dont have fllickering issue but my Precision 5530 today just freeze while watching youtube. 1st time actually and isnt like yours so often. Mind seems to run smooth for long period of time before the freeze happen, but sound continue and power button didnt work. Only able to force shut down and turn back on again. Closing the screen didnt work at all, as it didnt go to sleep. Wonder if anyone know what happen? It didnt overheat as well.

Seems like perhaps the USB ports are going into a low-power state.

What about the setting in Win10 for Selective Suspend while on battery or powered:

@KP_KUG did you manage to get this resolved?

I am seeing the same thing with my new Precision 5530. The screen freezes and I have to quickly power off/on to get it back. I notice if I continue typing the computer is continue to work fine, it is only the screen that is frozen. I've made sure all drivers and the bios are up to date.

For this moment there is no official solution for that there is a "Workaround"
In my case I had to (and hope it will work fot you):
1. Turn off C-states in BIOS
2. Turn off modern standby: https://techjourney.net/how-to-disable-connected-standby-instantgo-in-windows-10-8-1-8/ yours 5530 will go to standard sleep when you close a lid or press power button.
3. In result "hanging/freezing problem" will be replaced with "black sreeen flicering problem": https://www.dell.com/community/Precision-Mobile-Workstations/Precision-5530-and-TB16-black-screen-flashing-flicker/td-p/6230076 I know, it's a not a good bargain but better to get screen black flicker from time to time than get a "screen freez".
You won't get any screen black flickering until you put your 5530 to sleep.
4. Download and install old intel graphics driver link in this post: https://www.dell.com/community/Precision-Mobile-Workstations/Precision-5530-and-TB16-black-screen-flashing-flicker/m-p/7291856/highlight/true#M1687  should make flicker less frequent

Solution is on the way - I've got from DELL BIOS 1.9.1, but it is still unofficial. They still testing it: https://www.dell.com/community/Precision-Mobile-Workstations/Precision-5530-and-TB16-black-screen-flashing-flicker/m-p/7291848/highlight/true#M1686

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you need to disable downloading drivers by Windows Update.

Thank you, I'll give that a go. At the moment the screen freezing is happening 3-4 times a day.

I found that my 5530 freezes almost every 30 min or so. However, if it's connected to external monitor, either through hdmi or Dell Dock (usb-c), it will never freeze.

It is the same for me, I've never been able to fix it.

So after checking the video drivers on two of my co-workers' 5530s that have no freezing issues, I ended up downgrading from Intel UHD graphics 630 version 25.20.100.6617 to 25.20.100.6373.

I have not had any freezing in two days now. I will keep monitoring and let you know if this changes, but it's looking much better already. It's something worth testing I think. I installed the older drivers I found on Softpedia:

Generally, I find out that when screen was freezing, laptop was working normally - I could type in notepad and after sreen "unfreeze" all the thext was there.
In my case after few drivers change, RTC reset and few bios update everytning works fine but on Windows 10 bulid 1809 (new version give me same freeze problem but probably thats drivers and power settings in Windwos, but I'nt have a chance to confront drivers versions)
You can try:
1. Bios update to 1.12 and up
2. Reset RTC: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/pl/pl/plbsd1/latitude-15-5580-laptop/late5580_om_pub/real-time-clock-reset?guid=guid-8d55a66d-c835-4685-b13c-a5e9659c765d&lang=en-us

I use Intel graphics driver version 25.20.100.6617
Intel Managment Engine driver version 1904.12.0.1208

Generally I think it's a Intel problem not a Dell Problem (Lenovo X1 users report this same issue)
