Since there isn't a board for the Precision laptops, I am posting here.
I have a M6300 that I bought nine years ago.
It has Windows 10 on it, and actually works very well.
The video card must have died because the LCD is completely dark and the image is VGA but badly pixelated on an external monitor.
It seems such a shame to throw it away.
A used video card is $36 on eBay.
I have looked at videos on Youtube. It doesn't seem to hard to disassemble.
Are there any gotchas?
There are no real gotchas if you are replacing the GPU in your system with another FX1600M / FX3600M but I would suggest following the removal process in the manual which you can find here: https://dell.to/2yFS41D
