Precision 5530 and TB16 black screen flashing/flicker
I've searched the forums across the internet and this is a common problem that has not been fixed!
When the notebook is waking up from standby and/or connected and reconnected to the dock the screen flickers/flashes black on all connected screens.
When will Dell provide a working solution as all suggested workarounds do not mitigate this problem?
After a reboot the problem will start appearing again.
EDIT: Video from my later posts

This still is not resolved? Come on Dell, figure it out!
I am tired of having to restart my computer to clear this issue after some but not all sleep periods entered.

Hi @mountain_jim as per my post on the previous page -
Hi all,
We haven't forgotten about this, we have passed this onto Intel who are currently investigating the issue and will be working towards a driver update to address the issue.
As mentioned in my post previously, a workaround is to use the A00 or A01 graphics driver.
As soon as I can provide any further updates I will.
The issue lies with Intel and their graphics driver. We rely on them to get the driver updated and working before we can release the Dell bundled driver.

Received this email yesterday from a Dell technical support contact:
"Engineering is working on a BIOS update to fix the display flickering issue on the 5530. IT is in testing phase."
No other info or indication of timing. FYI, I'm using the older v23.20 Intel Graphics 630 driver as a temporary fix.

@JayCSG thanks for adding that however I find it strange that a BIOS update is being released to address the issue as we know the issue is with the driver from our investigations. I suspect the BIOS update will address any other issues that have been picked up. At present I am also unaware of the BIOS release schedule.

I've run into this issue as well, running the latest drivers. when I swap the same disk into a 5520 I can run from the same TB16 without issue.
I also noticed if I run with the LCD open while docked the LCD blacks out the same as the external monitors. even when I disconnect external monitors and run from the LCD only while connected to the TB16.

Just curious to know if there's been any update on this? I have an end user who's been dealing with this, We've tried a number of things but no success. sadly I'm kinda stumped. Any good news?

@Louim the BIOS update to address this issue is due to be released end of July / start of August pending successful testing.

Received an update this morning from the Dell technical team (a contact from Dell who is managing our open case):
"The BIOS update didn’t resolve the issue when testing. We are pushing back on the BIOS team to get this resolved since its been opened so long."
Back to square one? Sure seems like an issue with that Intel graphics driver. I'm running the older 23.20 version which is managing the issue for me.

@JayCSG thanks for adding this. The statement does seem at odds with my contact in engineering. There was BIOS released a few weeks ago to address Intel vulnerabilities and thermal table optimization. The next BIOS update due in a few weeks is supposed to fix the issue. It's currently going through testing and validation just now.
From my understanding the logic indicates that the Intel driver is the cause, however engineering have said it's a BIOS update that is going to fix it.

This seems to always happen randomly after some number of "flickers" putting the computer to sleep and waking it back up fixes it (for a while)

I had to switch to external monitor only then back to extended screen mode to bring the laptop screen back to life.
This is all happening following the 1.8.1. BIOS update yday evening.

Problem's just got a whole lot more worse.
Now my laptop screen's completely frozen / hanging and wont even update. Looks like it's froze, whilst my second external monitor is still working.
When it flickers black, only the external screen flickers because the laptop one is completely stuck.
