Precision 7520 Backlit Keyboard Does Not Light Up - PART 2

This post is a follow-on to the thread I previously created with the same subject (see link in post shown below).

I  recently upgraded my Bios, then lost the Bios setting for keyboard illumination.  So then I looked at the other drivers that were recently released and I upgraded the one with filename:

"Dell-ControlVault2-Driver-and-Firmware_Y13VJ_WIN64_4.7.26.65_A11.EXE"

After successfully running this driver/firmware update, the keyboard illumination setting re-appeared in my Bios settings and is working fine again.  There is something funny going on with this keyboard illumination setting that comes and goes with system updates.

Another tip, always download the Bios or driver updates to your PC and run them locally.  Do not run them from the Dell website as many of the messages/prompts do not appear when run from the browser.

And, yes, it's always advisable to download the drivers either to your desktop or to a usb thumbdrive, then install them.  emoticon.Wink.title
