SupportAssist damaged Windows 10 Update

Hello, today I run full support assist scan including "clean files" and "tune performance". I thought it may be good idea to run it once a while. After that I noticed in Windows Update tab error : "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80080005) " - also when I click on "Windows Security" tab there is no Windows Defender anymore ... This is what support assist did - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XBBu_3Arjhhh8K8lJC6c3HMEEIYq97G6/view?usp=sharing - some of that corrupted windows 10 update. How can I solve this ? Really disappointed with support assist.

So the support assist clearly did harm (probably registry related) to windows through "clean files" or "tune performance" . I ended up doing repair install with windows 10 installation media.

Thanks for assistance through private messages.

Thanks.

I followed the instruction. Got problem at instruction "3" - got this error https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bpVf9T2GHyFgRBSCOAk78zQ4ZSehLJTq/view?usp=sharing

I followed the other instructions after that anyway and also got error at instrucion "4" - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1g5RGK6ld5LnbhiZ0O5S0rOtenKjgPYDT/view?usp=sharing

What the SupportAssist app did to the laptop ?

I tried this solution https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/windows-update-service-missing-0x80070424-windows/710abc29-1926-4442-be8c-5adc7036ed32  which partly helped. Now Im able to use windows update. So the SupportAssist app clearly damaged registry files in windows 10 . But I still cant see windows defender - the windows security tab is blank. Any suggestions?

Also question - how can I set Support Assist app to not damage registry files ???

Thanks

Hi.I bought a second hand dell  precision m6400 put a spare 1TB hard drive in for storage and upgraded the ram.It was running windows 10 and I got notification for a update which I done.I got a message to update drivers so ran the dell support Assist and now cant get windows at all keeps going to repair and I have no password as this was second hand so have ordered a windows 10 installation disc. I shall not be running dell assist again. Bought this as a reliable spare and one you can work on yourself and it is fast when it works.
