disabling "adapter warnings" in the BIOS will it prevent CPU throttling?

Hi,

I've been sold a used Precision M6700 sporting a i5-3380M CPU.

They provided me a genuine power adpater but at boot I get the warning that it should be the 210W model rather then the provided 130W ones.

I please wonder what happened when disabling "adapter warnings" in the POST behavior section of the BIOS: will it just stop the warning or even prevent the CPU throttling?

Not sure if it's of any difference but the OS is Linux.

Many thanks 🙂

Disabling the warning will simply suppress the indication - the system will still throttle back unless you connect a power adapter of the proper power output.
