3115cn color multifunction Laser printer-- pickup rollers dirty?
Hello,
I'm having some trouble with my multifunction printer. Every once and while when I print, or copy, the device seems to have malfunctioning pick up rollers. There are a few different things that happen at random times. They appear to happen equally while copying or printing.
1) The device will call out its "distress" signal, and say "Paper Jam " When I look, there is absolutely nothing wrong, except for the paper that ought to have entered the device, it will have a small cut, about 1/2 inch long and a 1/8 deep, right in the center of the top of the paper. If I turn the paper end for end, or remove the paper from the paper tray, quite often the problem will not reoccur for some time.
2) The device will spit out 3 or 4 papers simultaneously, sometimes I will end up with two copies this way, even though I specified only one. I need not state how annoying this can be when you are trying to print on both sides of a paper.
3) The device will claim that there is no paper in the paper tray, when there is a good stack of paper still in the tray.
I'm wondering if this all goes back to dirty or worn out pick up rollers, if so, is there I safe way I can clean them, what should I clean them with?
Thanks very much to whoever took the time to read this,
