A940 doesn't print one out of four times. No error message. Must reboot to clear it. Reloading drivers doesn't help.
Most of the time my A940 prints ok. About one in four print jobs, it doesn't print. * There is no error message. * The print job can't be deleted. * Additional print jobs can be added and deleted but they don't print. * If I reboot, then the hung job prints as soon as the computer starts. * If I delete the hung print job, then upon reboot the job does delete. * Deleting and reloading the printer driver from the CD did not help. * Downloading and executing I5100A26.EXE (as suggested by tech support) did not help. * Swapping USB ports such that printer connects directly to the computer rather than through a port replicator did not help.
Is this a hardware problem such that the printer needs to be replaced?

This type of issue sounds more like a software issue then a hardware problem, but if you have access to another system you may want to try installing this on another system and see if you have the same problem. If the problem follows the printer, there may be a hardware problem with the printer; if the issue does not happen on another system, that would indicate the issue was on the system it is installed on (most likely a software issue).
