Cant Install new Cartridges

I've got a 926 that when i lift it up it won't move the printer head over to let me install the new cartridge so i moved them over manually have i done the wrong thing as now the printer wont take in the paper plz help

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

I am sorry to here about the issue you are having with your printer,. I cannot say if anything is damaged. Did you move the catridges back after you moved them over? When you try the steps below do the catridges return to the center?  Let me know the outcome.

1. Turn on your printer.
2. Lift the printer unit.
3. The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.
4. Press down on the ink cartridge lever to raise each ink cartridge lid.
5. Remove the old ink cartridges.
