Connecting the printer to the Wifi network.. impossible?

Hello fellow Dell users,

I have before you what may seem like a task easier than making a sand which but in reality has created such turmoil and waste of my time.

So now I ask the rest of the world for help,

I have: Dell V313W All-In-One Wireless Printer

My router: Netgear N300 Wireless Router (WNR2000)

My problem: The Dell wireless set up wont connect to the router!

I have a WPA2-PSK [AES] secure network, and I know the password for it. I entered the SSID in correctly, in fact I entered ALL of it in correctly.. but it wont connect?

Sorry if this seems bland, it is such an easy problem but I can't find the answer to it!

Jgillila,

Try WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security(Personal) I don't think the adapter supports WPA2-AES

Also try channels 1, 6 or 11. I use channel 11.  I would make a new SSIUD to make connecting easier. The printer would need setup again.

... When I selected this option, it warned me that my max mbps would only be 50.. Is this a sacrifice I can make? I have a wifi network that 3 of my roommates use as well.

Jgillila,

If you cannot make that sacrifice, then attach the printer to one computer and do the file and printer sharing.

Share Files and Printers between Windows 7 and XP

Sharing a printer through a wireless network

File and Print Sharing in Vista (Thanks to mombodog)

How to Network with HomeGroup in Windows 7
