Dell 1320c drivers
I have a 1320c and reformatted my hard drive, the printer connects to a USB port. I downloaded the driver from http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/ServiceTag/6374cc1, have unzipped to the default Temp location which the computer did not find in the automatic install option in "add printer" path.
I also saved to a created folder on the Desktop and tried the feature of directing the Install wizard to that folder to install.
In directing the install wizard it forces me to open folders until the the drivers downloaded only have a folders titled Win_x64 and Win_x86 to choose from.
My OS is Win XP service pack 2 (32 bit),
I still can't get the printer to be recognized or installed, any ideas?

Hi,
I would suggest you to open Win_x86 folder as x86 stands for 32-bit. To install the printer follow the steps below.
1. Unplug the printer from the system.
2. Uninstall the printer from the Control Panel by clicking Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Select the Dell Printer Driver > Uninstall
3. Download the latest Driver of the printer. Please click on the link below which will take you to the driver’s website: http://dell.to/uIo3ef . Enter the Service Tag of the computer and choose the Operating System installed on the computer.
4. If install shield wizard prompts to select a folder, please select Win_x86 folder and follow the install shield wizard.

Manshu,
I need the Windows RT driver for the 1320c printer. From what I have read Dell is not planning to release one. Am I out of luck or is there a compatible option available?

Hi luvdelltx,
Dell 1320c printer is compatible with Windows 8 not with Windows RT. Please refer to the Dell Article 572562 to check Microsoft Windows 8 Compatibility with Dell Printers:

this is not an answer to what luvdelltx was asking. Can you provide any information about planned Windows RT drivers for this printer model?

As of now there is no plan for Windows RT compatible driver for Dell 1320c printer.

So, AGAIN DELL asks me to buy a new product instead of providing new drivers or new firmware.
Since there are drivers for other DELL printers there's no understandable reason for not providing the driver.
Currently the printer is working fine, but the next one won't be a DELL printer.
