Dell 1700/1710 netowrked printers Slow to respond to requests
We have multiple 1700 series laser printers and when bringing up the properties page within printers and faxes on an XP machine it takes about 30 mins to bring up the page. Even when trying to delete the printer it takes forever. We are able to print to them with no problem. These machines are all on a printer server but we also have Canon copiers and multiple plotters connected so i don't think its a printer server issue. We can bring up properties for any other printer or copier provided its not a Dell. Has anyone had this problem or know of a fix? This issue has caused one of our laptops not to be able to print or delete and re-install the printer.

We also are having this problem. The strange thing is, 5 PCs have this printer installed, via network and only two of the 5 are having the problems displaying the properties page. Everything on the properties page comes up blank and we receive the following error: 'val.nameId' is null or not an object Line 4544, Char 0:
3 of the 5 PCs are running WinXP Pro (1 of which is having problems)
1 of the 5 PCs is Windows 2000 Pro - this pc is also having the same problem.
The other machine is actually a Windows 2000 server - no problems.
