Dell 2135cn printing very light Drum cartridge replace?

I have a Dell 2135cn printer.  It is about 1 year old.  It began to print very light copies.  I replaced the toner cartridges but it continued to print light.  I ordered a drum cartridge and that took care of the problem.  This was 3 months ago.  Now the printer is printing very light again, with no success when I replace the toner cartridges.  Do I need another drum cartridge?  Is this normal to have to replace the drum cartridge so often.  what else might be causing this problem?  Thanks for your help.

I just had the same experience - called Dell technical assisance.  I use aftermarket toners.  Eventhough my 2135cn is 3 years old, it apparently has lifetime phone assistance support.  In any event, the fix was to go into setup, admin, maintenance, non-Dell toner - make sure this is showing 'On'.  My wasn't,  and as soon as I changed it to On, the black printing went from barely legible to acceptable.
