Dell 3100cn - Black Ink Missing on the Left Side of the Page

Greetings,

I have a Dell 3100cn printer that has been maintenanced regularly but during the last weeks we have been experiencing a problem where the black ink is faded or missing for the entire column, approximately 1.5 inches wide,  (about 1/4 of the way into the page from the left side). Interestingly, the color ink prints without issue in the same space. For example, I have reports that will print that contain black & colored text inter-mixed in the paragraphs. The black text will be faded or missing while the colored text will print normally. 

Sample Text:

See the quick brown fox jump over the log.

In the example above, the word fox would print in the blue text but the black text on either side would be faded or missing.

I will try to get some scanned copies for reference and post them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
