Dell 922 all in one printer adding extra blank lines
I don't know if it is possible to fix this or if I should just get a new printer. I have a Dell 922 all in one printer when I print a test page the type looks like it is printing double on some of it and the rest there are blank lines throughout the paper. It prints everything; it just adds an extra blank line in the middle of lines. So when you look at it you would see the top part of the letters on then a blank space then the bottom part of the letters. This also cause it to print on two pages instead of one. I have done the maintenance to "clean to fix horizontal lines" and I did everything they told me to do on line. If you have any I can do please let me know.

haltan,
I would guess the problem might be with the ink cartridge, since the test page that is being printed from the printer is doing this. I would also try re-installing the drivers as described below and see if that helps.
Try re-installing the drivers this way and everything should come back to normal if these are New Dell Series 5 ink cartridges. Dell ink cartridges cannot be refilled, they have a sensor in them. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges They can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's website.
Disconnect your printer. Download and run this patch to completely remove the printer from your computer.
Restart your computer.
Download the proper drivers
XP Drivers
Vista 32-bit Drivers
Install the proper drivers. You'll be prompted when to connect your printer.
Scanning
Scanning using USB connection, open the Dell All-In-One Center, click on scanning and copying and scan from there.
Scanning wirelessly, use the scan buttons on the printer.
