Dell 966 printer drivers not loading under windows 7
I have loaded the printer driver as per the dell website (USB connected) and the driver does not seem to load
I have loaded the driver R165704 (64bit windows 7) and the install appreas to work but once completed (the dell all in one centre loads, scanner works etc) but the driver is not installed.
Can someone please assist?

Mark,
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual
Printer Driver Removal
Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode
You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on).

thanks. Worked first time.
For other users with a similar problem the compatibility function is accessed by right clicking the driver file (after unzipping), then select properties then compatibility.
