Dell AIO 944 Printer Scanning

My 944 Printer won't scan from the all-in-one center.  The control panel will enable the scan, but it doesn't seem to work as well.  There is no option to repair from the installation CD, so I uninstalled, but the program won't reinstall.  I recovered everything from a backup.  I'd really like to fix this, if anyone can help.

stkoch,

Can you copy a document under the glass?

Can you print a document?

Does your computer have the Dell All-In-One Center installed?

Does your computer have ABBYY FineReader 6.0 Sprint installed?

Thanks PudgyOne;

After 10 hours, I discovered exactly what you told me (before I read your answer)

that clicking the icon in My Computer and choosing ABBYY FineReader 6.0 Sprint

plus produced the All-In-One center which then worked.  The scan is noticeably better

than that produced from the Control Panel icon ‘Scanners and Cameras’.

Let me say that I am stunned anyone cared enough to reply.  61 years have

led me to expect no help whatsoever and as an old my computer savvy is not

there, at least for now.

Bringing up the AOI center from ‘All Programs’ still doesn’t produce a scan.

I’m considering acquiring the 2008 Visual Studio and using the ‘Just-In-Time’

debugger, but I’m reading that this can be hard to get rid of and a huge nuisance.

Meantime, my scanner works, but certainly, the software would reinstall if there wasn’t

some problem.

Have a fantastic evening PudgyOne and thanks again.

stkoch,

Glad you got it working! :emotion-21: Thanks for posting back. I see you figured it out. I am not far behind you in age, I just asked my friends a lot of questions, still learning. :emotion-5:
