Dell V715w not scanning properly to PDF...
I have a Dell 715w that has been working perfectly for better than a year now. However, recently something has changed with my settings, and I can't figure out what. I use the scan-to-pdf function alot, and used to be able to scan using the ADF going to letter-sized pdf. Now, everytime I scan using the ADF, it sends the file to pdf in 8.5 x 14 size, no matter what I do. The original is letter size. If I scan to pdf using the same document on the flatbed, it scans properly at letter size. I teach for a living, and scanning a 20 page document using the flatbed is a litle time consuming. Can anybody help me out...is this a setting that I'm missing, or what? I've gone through the various settings that I can find, to no avail. Help!!!

tselzer,
When you scan, are you using the scan buttons on the printer or Dell Printer Home?
Do you have the correct paper size selected on the printer?

I'm scanning from dell printer home, and the printer is set for letter. It has worked correctly ever since I originally purchased the printer, up until recently.

tselzer,
Printer is set for printer.
Start, control panel, printers, your printer, printer preferences.
Look these and make sure the correct paper size is selected.
Open Dell Printer Home, click on advanced scan.
Make sure the proper paper size is selected there. Just to be sure, check it for Flatbead and using the ADF.

Rick,
I've checked to make sure that letter is selected in the printer preferences and properties through the control panel...also through advanced scan in dell printer home. It was.
Using the flatbed and selecting scan to pdf from the printer control panel works perfectly. Using the flatbed and selecting scan to pdf from dell printer home works perfectly. Using the adf and choosing scan to pdf from the printer control panel works perfectly. However, using the adf and choosing scan to pdf from dell printer home gives me the scan in 8.51x14 format, even though all of the settings that I checked are set to letter size.
Any other ideas? It only seems to occur when using dell printer home with the adf and choosing pdf format. If I scan the same document using dell printer home and the adf, but choose to scan into Word (text document for editing), then it behaves normally and gives me letter-sized. Everything works fine if I use the printer control panel instead of dell printer home.

tselzer,
If you can wait a day, I have off work on Friday and will look at the settings in my Dell V715w Wireless Printer to see if I can find the setting to change it back. I have to work this afternoon, so much needed rest on my agenda. I may check it later this evening. I feel it's a setting in the printer and I just have to locate it.

Not a problem...I teach afternoon and night classes, so I won't get on here until after 11pm EST (as you can tell from some of my posts). By the way, I accidently marked your last post as an answer, and then rejected it...not enough coffee yet...sorry.
I also was playing with the adf last night. On the feed portion of the adf, there is a width adjustment that has two positions marked; A4 and LTR/LGL. But it actually seems to have a third position...wide open. Does this have any bearing on the length of the final outcome? I've got it set to LTR/LGL right now. Do you know if this is just for alignment of the feed, or is it an actual monitored position that will affect the printing format?

tselzer,
On the printer, click on the wrench.
Page setup,
paper size = letter
paper type = automatic
See if these settings help.

Well, I checked the settings, and they are correct. I don't know what to think. I'll play with it some more tomorrow.

tselzer,
Start, control panel, programs and features, Adobe Reader, uninstall.
Restart your computer.
Download and install the newly released version of Adobe Reader and install it.
What happens now?
You might have to add it to the Update list of applications to send scans to
