GPS and Axim X51

I'm trying to connect my AXIM x51 to a external GPS through the sync cable.

I am using a logitech powered USB hub to power the GPS and connecting to the AXIM x51 to the GPS via the USB hun. However the axim is not recognising that there is a GPS connected. I have installed the drivers that came with the GPS and apparently it does work on other PDA's. The GPS is a Globalstat BU-353 GPS Receiver

Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?
