How can I get and install a driver for my Dell laser 1100 printer that works on Vista x64?
27 Dec 2008 05:36PM
It's sad to learn Dell has stopped supporting this popular printer. They have a driver for Vista x32 but not Vista x64. I reckon I'll have to trick the system somehow with a non-Dell driver. So I need step by step help on finding and installing it on my Vista x64 system.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

dark_poplar,
It's kinda you lucky day, well sort of. I was seraching Dell's website and found this for you.
Printer 1100(Personal Laser) Vista 64-bit Drivers only
Disconnect the printer and uninstall any printer drivers that you have installed already. (Try control panel, add/remove programs)(Also check the printers and faxes and make sure it's not there) Restart your computer.
Install the drivers. You'll be prompted when to connect the printer(powered on)
