V305 wireless connection

Ive used a V305 printer very happily on and off for 4 years.  Recently it stopped working, did all the trouble shooting and reinstalled software etc.  Now can print when connected by wire but not by wireless connection.  Just cant make a wirelss connection between the The Laptop Dell Inspiron 9300 and Dell V305 printer.  Help!

Hi,

I can understand electronic devices can create confusion when they do not work the way they are designed for.

Here are few things that we can try to fix this technical issue.

To connect the printer wireless with the computer follow the below steps:

Perform the steps below and ensure that the services required for the printer to work Wireless are started.

  1. Press the “Windows + R” to launch the run window.
  2. Type “Services.msc” in the run window and hit the Enter key.

Right click each service mentioned below, click properties. Set the startup type as “Automatic” from the drop down menu and click “Start”. Please click “Apply” to save the changes.

The services to be enabled are:

  • Human Interface Devices (HID).
  • Printer Spooler.
  • RPC (Remote Procedure Call).
  • RPC Locator (Remote Procedure Call Locator).
  • Windows image acquisition (WIA).
  • Windows Installer.

Open “Dell printer Home “application in the computer.

Click “Settings” and

Select “Wireless Setup” under settings. And follow the onscreen instructions.

Check if that helps and please reply.

Hi,

To access Dell printer home application the click Start->All programs-> Dell printers-> Dell printer home->settings-->wireless setup.

Or you can also install the  Dell printer home application from the drivers cd for V305.

Please reply for further help.

Router BT Home Hub 3.0

Channel not known

Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any)

Restart the computer and try to connect.

What happens?

no change

Unlug the printer from the wall for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Allow the printer to connect to your network.

What happens?

no change

Try these tweaks...

Start, control panel, device manager.

Is 'device manager' (which I can't find) a folder or are you refering to the 'printers and faxes' folder?  If the latter in that folder are a number of printers including one labeled Dell V305, but then what?

In the Dell printers folder there was only one item: Dell V305 uninstall.  So presumably I need to d/l new driver software?  Can I do that from the Dell site and input the printer service tag?

balladcafe,

Make and model of your wireless router and the type of security you're using? What channel?

Check your virus program and firewall settings?
