WHEN USING REMANUFACTURED INK CARTRIDGES, V505 WON'T PRINT AT ALL
I have been getting the series 11 DELL remanufactured ink cartridges, and I went to print settings and did what was on here as far as making the "low ink" alert go off, but my printer will not print at all and it says that I have an unidentified cartridge. What now?
I just have a Windows Vista home addition computer, Dell Home, basically the beginners computer, so layman's terms, please!

kenneltech,
It's always best to use the manufacturers ink cartridges. The Dell Series ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges You can try turning off the settings but probably still get the low ink message.
Some generic brands work and some do not. People that have refilled them or used generic brand cartridges have been putting up with the low ink messages. They usually have an extra set of cartridges ready in case the print quality get bad.
I usually get the Dell High Yeild Printer cartridges and they seem to last a long time during the school term.
