Then let me know what happens. With Windows 7, you can try installing the Vista drivers in the compatibility mode. Instructions at the owners thread.

2 Click windows symbol @ bottom left on desktop, select DEVICES AND PRINTERS, and check you haven't already installed the (ERRONEOUS) Microsoft Driver accidentally while plugging in the printer.

If you DID, the Printer's picture will have a ! on it and say it needs troubleshooting. If so, don't bother troubleshooting, just RIGHT  click on PRINTER properties, then ADVANCED, then UNINSTALL DRIVER/Printer...

Unplug the printer.

Run the driver's .exe file again if required. Follow any instructions given.

Restart the computer. Plug the printer in again and wait for windows to load the new (64 bit) Driver, and do a test print. This works fine on my WIN 7 64 bit system, though when the installation software asks you to plug it in 1/2 way through Windows may be re-installing a previous 32 bit version which of course WON'T work...

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.

Disconnect the printer.

Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

Download the XP 32-bit drivers for Windows 7 32-bit or the XP 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64-bit. Install the XP drivers in the XP Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on).

Try running Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and post the rest of the information back here.

It says you can use the vista 32 bit driver. Very strange. I would still buy a new printer or all in one. Use your 725 until the ink runs out if you still have your old computer. Vista driver is here: www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats

Hit the Windows keys and the R keys at the same time. Type...

C:\Program Files\Dell 725\Drivers

You'll need to right click new, folder. Name the folder French.

Open the English folder, copy everything in the English folder, then paste everything to the French folder.

Double click on the XP 64-bit drivers and install again. This time the printer should install and prompt you to connect the printer.

That's strange that it didn't work. This has worked for other members that have a Language other than English on their computers.
