dell c3760dn - IP adress for an usb connected printer ?
my Dell colorlaser is connected to 2 PC via an simple USB-switch. Recently I had the impression that for some settings or enquiries (number of printed pages) I need the web configutration tool. So the question occured about rules or general possibility of assigning IP to an USB connected printer.
In other words: can I simply fill any number between 0.0.0. and 256.256.256 ? And does it work ? Would like to avoid experimenting.

Olaf,
Copy the information between the lines and paste them to notepad.

ipconfig /all > "%userprofile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt"
arp -a >> "%userprofile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt"
notepad "%userprofile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt"

Save as
ipinfo.cmd
Right click on it, then run as administrator.
One of the IP Addresses at the Interface section will be the IP Address for the printer. You should be able to enter the IP Address into your browser to access the printers configuration/settings page.
