williamkidd,
After not hearing from you, I tried to re-install Itunes, remember i still could get rid of Itunes Miniplayer, it installed with no problem. So, thanks for all your help in finally getting through this.

@Bagelm
Sorry about the delay. Before I get back to your iTunes issue, I want to suggest that when you reply to this post to make sure that you have the Email me replies to this post option checked if you don't have it that way already. You may have to do this each time that you post if you do not have your profile options set up to do that for all posts. That option appears right above the Post button when you are replying to a post. Just make sure it is checked before you click Post.
I need to know a couple of things that should help figure out which way that we need to go. First, what version of Windows is installed on the Inspiron? I'm thinking Vista but I want to make sure. Second, is QuickTime installed on the system? To find out if QuickTime is installed (assuming Vista), click Start > All Programs and then look in the list for the QuickTime folder. Click on the QuickTime folder and see if it shows QuickTime Player. If QuickTime Player is there, click on it and see if it opens up correctly. If it does then you can go ahead and close it. QuickTime is required to use iTunes. Let me know how this goes or if you've already found a solution.

You should also look into fixing your CAPS LOCK key before posting again :emotion-55:

Sorry for not getting back to you, but i could find in my profile how to set that option. Anyhow, i'm running Vista, and Quicktime player
opens correctly.

Not a problem. As long as you have that option Email me replies to this post checked when you post you should get an e-mail when a reply is posted.
Thanks for that info. Follow the steps below and if anything differs from the instructions stop and post what happened (except in the one case that I mention in Step 3).
1) Make sure that no iPod devices are connected to the computer.
2) Close all open applications except for your browser. Especially make sure that iTunes is not open.
3) Follow the instructions for Removing iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista. Before you follow the instructions in the hyperlinks, run through the ones that deal with the iPodService.exe Alert to make sure that that service isn't running. Use the same process that is used to stop iPodService.exe if you see a program called iTunesHelper.exe running in Task Manager. Once you've checked for the iPodService.exe and iTunesHelper.exe then go through each hyperlink (in blue) starting with Removing iTunes. If you get that same message when trying to uninstall iTunes as directed on that page, continue through the steps for removing the other Apple components, such as QuickTime and the Apple Software Update.
4) Report back if and what you were able to uninstall using those instructions from the article mentioned in Step 3.

Hi williamkidd,
Made sure that neither (exe.) were running. I then went to the control panel and selected uninstall programs. Then i clicked on itunes and clicked ininstall. it then promped me to select, (ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO UNINSTALL ITUNES) and i selected yes. Then i get (THE FEATURE YOU TRYING TO USE IS ON A NETWORK RESOURCE THAT IS UNAVAIABLE) and i can't proceed any further.
Thanks,

Hello
You can try this
1)-Download this "windows cleanup utility" from following link--
http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe
Run this install this.
Then you to start and all programs and it will show as " windows cleanup install" . it will open up a small windows so from there select itunes or quick time whatever is avil for apple and click on remove and then restart the system and try reinstalling this from this link here.
http://www.filehippo.com/download/file/5accd78df4cf3e1c189b139211332c6293523fc35c1f5a6a3398c9e713eca9c8/
If you are using vista then you need to go to start and in the serach box there type windows cleanup and do the same as above.
This will hopefully fix your issue.

Ok, I'd like you to check something. Follow the steps below and let me know what happens.
1) Click Start > Computer.
2) Copy this --> C:\Program Files\iTunes and paste it into the Address Bar of Windows Explorer (the Address Bar should say Computer and is right above where it says Organize, Views, etc.). Once you have pasted that into the Address Bar, press Enter.
3) If you see anything on the right-hand side of the window, let me know. I don't need to know everything that is there, just that there are some files and folders present. What I'm trying to find out is if iTunes has already been uninstalled but Control Panel doesn't realize it. If so then we do want to use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility (WICU) as was mentioned in the first link that I provided. The direct link to the WICU page is here.

Hi williankidd,
Went to computer and ran program files/itunes and found four files, then ran (WICU) and removed itunes, ipod, and updates.
Restarted computer and they no longer show up in the control panel remove programs, but the same four files still come up when
I ran computer files/itunes. Should I try to reinstall itunes at this point.

Not just yet. First go back into Control Panel > Uninstall a program (under Programs) and see if Quicktime or any other Apple programs are listed there. If you click the Publisher heading, the programs will be sorted alphabetically by company which will make it easier to find the Apple applications.
Also, let me know what the four files are that you see in the iTunes folder.

Hi williamkidd,
After further checking, itunes and ipod are showing up under program files in c hard drive. Tried to remove them but getting denied access and
I need permission to preform this action. These files are not showing up in the control panel.

Bagelm, is there more than one user account on that computer? Do not try to delete the files inside the folders. Instead, right-click on the iPod and iTunes folders (one at a time) that are inside Program Files and then select Delete. DO NOT empty the Recycle Bin yet though just in case there is something that needs to be recovered. There shouldn't be but it never hurts to make sure. :emotion-1:
