Dell Backup & Recovery Premium - "Operation Cancelled"

I am not able to do a system backup. After about 30 minutes the process stops suddenly withe the message "Operation Cancelled. Destination location unavailable or not enough space on the disk."

I looked up old forums and found one dated about 4 years ago, where the user had exactly the same problem (josh_melbourne was the answering engineer).

The only difference is, that I am using DBAR Premium version 1.9.2.8 on a Dell XPS12 win Win 8.1 Pro

It also appears, the there is a update problem with DBAR. When starting DBAR, the opening screen says, that there is a new update available. But when pursuing this and starting the update process, eventually the system says, that the latest version has been installed.

I have tried two different external HD with both enough storage for a backup.

I am really looking forward to your help. The last successfull system backup that I was able to perform happened the 8th of January in 2016!

Thanks in advance!

Sincerely

Anton Kohler

RE: Dell Backup & Recovery Premium - "Operation Cancelled"

Hi there

Thanks for your response. According to

www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails

DBAR version 1.9.2.8 should work for Win 8.1 Pro on my Dell XPS12

But that might not be true, since my last successful system backup was done just before the release of the 1.9.2.8 verstion.

So what are my options? Can I go back to an earlier version that works? Also how does it work for me, since I am a Premium user?

Thanks again for your help.

Kind regards

Anton Kohler

Even though I currently have four Dell PCs, I must admit that I don't use DBAR very much except to create what Dell calls a Factory Recover Media. And I did not pay for the premium version.

You can try going back to the previous version.

There are a couple of popular freeware out there that allows you to create a image of your hard drive.
