Dell Backup and Recovery 1.9.1.3 Create Factory Recovery Media continuous notifications

Hi everybody,

I have a Dell15 7548 laptop, windows 10 (upgraded from 8.1). I recently received the 1.9.1.3 upgrade of Dell Backup and Recovery and I get continuous notifications to create factory media backups.

I created numerous ones, I chose "don't remind me again" (or something like that) many times, BUT the notification keeps popping up ALL THE TIME. Something is apparently not working well.

Tried "setting"/"privacy"/"background apps". No relevant app.

Tried finding the startup item, no startup item. Looked at the background processes and found it's the "Dell Backup and Recovery Toaster". Now, how can I stop it from running on start up? Gone to services, couldn't find something specific.

Checked the web, but all posts are older that 2014, no recent ones for similar problems.

And I'm pretty frustrated by now!

Any help?

Michael

I was able to fix this in my case doing the following.

1. Launch notepad as an administrator.

2. Open file C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell Backup and Recovery\Notifications.xml

3. Change false to true for

the CREATE_RESCUE_DISK notification.

    CREATE_RESCUE_DISK

    LOW

    true

    false

The effect was immediate.
