Dell Insperon 1545 Start Up Problems

Almost every time lately I start up my Dell Insperon 1545 it makes a clicking noise and the past time there was some (very little) smoke that came from the back vent (?). I have never dropped my computer so I'm not sure why this would happen. Does anyone know how/if this could be fixed?

Hi, You can get clicking noises when Hard Drives are on their way out. Have you tried running dell diagnostic from your drivers disc, or by pressing F12 at boot. HERE is a trouble shooting guide for your system. Also dell support center has a diagnostic guide to it.
