Installing Microsoft Office 2003 onto a different hard drive
I have a question about Microsoft Office 2003. I just added a second hard drive to my Inspiron 530 that I want to use as my primary hard drive. I want to know if I can install Microsoft Office 2003 on my new 1 TB hard drive without any problems from Microsoft. I know you are allowed to install two copies of Office on two different computers. Does it matter if you just change the hard drive on one of them and install the software? Or would be it easier to use Acronis True Image 2009 to clone my old hard drive onto the new one?
Sincerely,
David Raymore

You should be able to install Office on the new drive without problems. If the on-line activation does fail, it's a simple matter of calling Microsoft (from the list of numbers provided during the activation process) and explaining what you've done. MS will give you an activation code.

This is assuming you have the Installation discs for Office. You can't just "copy" it over to the new hard drive. If you don't have the discs for Office then you will have to use Acronis to backup the existing hard drive then load the new drive from the Acronis backup.
