Microsoft Office error 2330

I  just bought my laptop, InIspiron 1545 with Windows Vista, and everything from my Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 worked perfectly fine. The last time i used it without any errors was when I installed my printer to the computer and printed a document. Then the next day when i wanted to use Microsoft Office word 2007 it keeps telling me this:

1.Please wait while Windows configures Micrsoft Home adn Student 2007.

2. Error 2330. Setup cannot get attributes for the  file C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office12. Verify that the file exists in your system and that you have sufficient permissions to update it.

Then i click ok and a message pops up saying:

3 .Fatal error during installation.

I  sincerely hope someone can help me solve this issue.

Re: Microsoft Office error 2330

Use the System Restore (accessed from Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools) and restore the PC back to when it did work correctly.

If that doesn't fix it, the program will have to be reinstalled, unless this is just a "trial" version that came with the PC and in that case your only option is to purchase the program and install it in place of the trial version.    Since this is a new PC, if you paid for the MS Office then you should have received an installation disc (with the Product Key) for the program, and if it's missing you need to contact Dell ASAP to get the missing disc as you only have a very limited time to request replacements for missing software such as MS Office.

Re: Microsoft Office error 2330

Thanks for the suggestion; however, i tried using the system restore and this message comes up.

1. The disk OS(C) has errors. Windows has detected file systems corruption on OS (C;). You must check the disk for error before it can be restored.     So I clicked on "check the disk for errors"

2. Then a window comes up and i select "Automatically fix file system errors.

3. However, another window comes up saying: Windows cannot check disk while in use. Do you want to check for hard disk errors the next time you start your computer? And i click "yes schedule disk check". But, nothing comes up. And i even restart the computer and nothing shows up neither.

So i tried reinstalling it and when i tried to uninstall it the massage came up saying "Error 2330. Setup cannot get attributes for the  file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\1033. Verify that the file exists in your system and that you have sufficient permissions to update it". And yes I do have have the installation disk with the Product Key because I bought the MS Office

And I have no clue what else to do please help.
