My Dell update failed

Hi, when I turn on My Dell application that says me:

But when i click "Update" that ask me to start Fusion,

I click "Yes", but after that it again says the Update is avaible (picture 1).

I finally got it back to work. It seems the "NO_DOWNGRADE" was related to vcredis. The log file after extracting the Fusion service installer showed better info.

1. Extract the Fusion Service installer (my not be necessary when next step is done)

2. Download the latest vcredist (I used x64)from Microsoft site https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

3. Reboot

4. "My Dell" app now starts the service and runs

I have the same problem. I uninstalled "My Dell" App, reinstalled "My Dell" from Microsoft Store. When I open "My Dell" it wants to update and fails - retry fails with error that I should check the network connection. Network connection is fine - that's how I downloaded the app anyways. Please provide support and fix this issue as this is happening on many Dell laptops right now

 - Uninstall current My Dell Fusion service, uninstall My Dell, restart the computer

 - Install My Dell Fusion Service 2.0.58.0, install My Dell via the Microsoft Store

I uninstalled Fusion before, it is not available in "Apps & features". I uninstalled "My Dell", rebooted.

Installing the Fusion Service 2.0.58.0 from your link results in an error. The log is attached. Please advise what directory/registry entry should be removed to completely uninstall Fusion as regular uninstall did not seem to work.

Can you try these extra steps per Dell-Cares:

1. Uninstall My Dell app.

2. Use SupportAssist to ensure all drivers are the latest.

3. Ensure all Windows updates are installed.

4. Update the Fusion service from here.

5. Now, install My Dell app.

Let us know if doing the 2 additional steps changes anything.

All steps were done - no change. Fusion app form link cannot be installed "no_downgrade" error in log as shown before (2.0.58.0_A00). The My Dell app needs to update -> installation of update starts and fails -> returns to update or quit screen which never gets to complete the upgrade installation. A log file for the "My Dell" app would be useful but isn't accessible. If there is a log generated, please inform of the location. Thanks.

Unfortunately, this didn't work for my Dell Precision M7540 Mobile Workstation (Laptop).  I keep getting installation failed when I tried installing/updating the Fusion service, but it still failed.  Tried running as Administrator didn't work for me either.

Any one have any ideas how can I get this working?

Thanks.

Hi, I did the exactly what you said but it still seems to not work. Do I need to do something with the extracted Fusion Service? Do I need to extract it somewhere specifically?

After downloading the latest vcredist version and rebooting i started the app. It started the service but instantly went back to the update thing. Hope that's enough info for you.

New year, same error new / other root cause -  I also have this deadlock with the Fusion Update - seems to me this started with the latest update on 01-08-2023 in Microsoft Store - just have a look at the ratings of "My Dell" - there is a bunch of new ratings, indicating, this is a general problem at the moment. In case there is an improvement I'll write here, how to solve the deadlock problem. It'll take some time, until Dell will make a solution available.

New Year Same problem on my Inspiron 16 Plus.

When I reinstall Fusion 2.0.58.0, it will automatically update to version 2.1.31.0 a minute later. My Dell stays in update loop.
