Using Outlook's Recall Feature

I have attempted to use MS Outlook's Message Recall feature.  I understand the basics:  that a recall only works when both the sender and reciever use Outlook, and that only unread, unmoved messages can be recalled.

However, will I recieve a notification if it worked or not if the reciever uses a different E-mail software?
