4210x projector turns on automatically and shows the shutdown dialog when in use

I have recently connected this projector to a media PC via HDMI and cannot seem to get it to stay off. It will automatically turn on when the system is not in use.  In addition it pops up the shutdown dialog every so often while using it.

Where do I find what turns this thing on.  I think it is possessed.
